Zur optimalen Ausnutzung der verfügbaren Breite sind die Geschossdecken direkt in die Brandwände der Nachbarbebauung eingelegt. Der baurechtlichen Forderung nach konstruktiver Unabhängigkeit eines jeden Gebaudes wurde mit einer Verweisbaulast begegnet, wonach bei Abriss der Nachbarbebauung alle Massnahmen zum Fortbestand des Hauses auf Kosten seines Eigentümers erfolgen.

The apartment and office building's long, narrow site measures 2.56 m in width. To optimally use the available width, the ceilings have been inserted directly into the compartment walls of the neighboring buildings. The building code requiring that each building be an independent construction was countered with the obligation to construct and maintain which stipulates that if a neighboring building is torn down, then the owner is responsible for the costs that all measures for the continued existence of the house would entail.
